Installation view: Re: (Reply Art Exhibit), Pfizer 360 Flushing Ave, Brooklyn, NY https://www.reart.show/
โ STROKE, CORTEX is a cinematic karaoke-musical about love and news. Cycles of love and news are paralleled in their relentless ability to captivate and manipulate to ask the question: what is entertainment, and what is it for?
In the inaugural edition of the Reply Art Show, I placed STROKE, CORTEX into a dysfunctional electronic gated storage room that resembles a mental ward or a custody room inside the former Pfizer pharmaceuticals manufacturing plant in Brooklyn, New York. By 2005, over 2 billion pills were being manufactured here annually, ranging from Zoloft to Lipitor to Viagra. Then, in 2008, the plant was finally shuttered for good. It is now being gradually developed into a concentrated lifestyle hub.
